Just in her late teens benelle Q discovered her passion for songwriting and singing. She used to be part of musically gatherings like choirs or musical groups. But only to start playing the guitar almost in her 20s and started to write lyrics and songs referred to as “backyardfolk”. First gigs in local pubs in northern Germany followed, where she performed as a solo artist. Also, as opening act for local bands. A while after she traveled to California where she recorded parts of her first album “I Like You” and also performed in local pubs and restaurants in Lompoc, CA and Helena, MT.

After several years of playing rather folk related music she discovered pop music as new passion and worked with several experienced musicians on new pieces in Hamburg and Berlin. Now a days she is focused on only writing rather than singing and is enjoying every part of being in the back rows instead of being the one in the spotlight.
